Service 01

Consulting Services

An outside read on what to build, what to buy and what to stop. We scope the problem before anyone writes code, and we will tell you when technology is the wrong answer.

Service 01

Consulting Services

Most organisations do not have a technology problem. They have a decision problem that technology has been asked to solve.

Consulting Services

Our consulting work starts with the operation as it actually runs — not the process diagram, the real one, with the spreadsheet and the WhatsApp group in it. From there we can say what is worth automating, what needs redesigning first, and what should simply be left alone.

We are not a reseller and we take no vendor commission, so a recommendation to buy nothing costs us the same as a recommendation to build.

How it works

  1. 1
    Listen

We sit with the people doing the work and map the operation as it really runs.

  2. 2
    Diagnose

Separate the decision problem from the technology problem, and size each option.

  3. 3
    Recommend

A written assessment and a sequenced roadmap — including what not to do.

  4. 4
    Support

We stay alongside while you take it to the board, the vendors and the team.

What we do

  • 01Operating model and process review
  • 02Technology strategy and roadmap
  • 03Build, buy or partner assessments
  • 04Vendor proposal and RFP evaluation
  • 05Data and governance readiness
  • 06Programme and portfolio advisory

This is for you if

  • You have several competing proposals and no internal way to judge them
  • A programme has stalled and nobody agrees on why
  • You are about to commit budget and want a second read first
  • You need a roadmap your board will actually fund

What you get

  • A written assessment with the assumptions stated
  • A scored, sequenced roadmap with dependencies named
  • A cost and effort view your finance team can test
  • A named recommendation — including "do not do this"

The most valuable thing a consultant can tell you is that the project you are about to fund should not exist. We say it when it is true.
